Tolerance. People are complex and different. Without tolerance, our whole civilization would fall apart.
When you look at countries that are doing relatively well for themselves you'll always find that they are relatively tolerant - while countries that have public beatings for saying (or _feeling_) the "wrong" things tend to be on the verge of collapse.
By the way, I hope Australia is treating you well.
